An investigation on “conceptualism” in new media art
Abstract
The subject of this study is conceptual art and its relationship with new media. In the study, the characteristics of contemporary conceptual art and the conceptual foundations of new media art are discussed. Today, when the notion of post-concept is in question, artists benefit from new media and opportunities for their conceptual production. This situation brought the idea of dematerialization of art to a different dimension. A literature search was conducted on the subjects of conceptual art, work of art and dematerialization of art, and the artist selected as an example and his chosen work were examined.
