Abstract

Lithography printing technique has been frequently preferred in the production or duplication of artistic and commercial works for many years thanks to its ease of production and economy. Although the development of digital printing technology in recent years has reduced the commercial use of lithography, it continues to be an important production method for artists.

The lithography technique, which is a type of chemical printing, is considered to be the origin of photolithography, which was developed to be applied on ceramic bodies due to the same basic principles. This technique, which is called "Photolithography" due to its use in transferring photographic images to ceramic surfaces, has not yet become widespread enough in art ceramics despite its unique texture and relatively easy application compared to many printing methods. In this study, photolithography technique applications were carried out by considering various variables such as ceramic mason stains and colouring oxides. The results of the experiments were evaluated and the applicability of the photolithography technique on art ceramics surfaces was revealed.
