TRAVEL TRADITION AND USAGE AREAS
Abstract
Handicrafts have emerged due to natural conditions since human beings have existed. The handicrafts that gave the first examples to meet the needs of the people, to cover them and to protect them, and then show the changes according to the environmental conditions, have gained the "traditional" character by reflecting the feelings, artistic tastes and cultural characteristics of the society in which they emerged. For example, weavings which have emerged as ground spread have been transformed into art and profession.
The emergence of Kırkyama art is based on ancient histories. It is a handicraft made as a result of the sewing of various pieces of fabric in accordance with the needs and by giving various patterns. Kırkyama handmade fabric pieces in a convenient way to merge and quilt methods are made with. Kırkyama job was created by combining fabrics for the purpose of evaluating small pieces of fabrics centuries ago. Nowadays patchwork is common as carpet. Forty patches are all fabric joining techniques. Although it is referred to by a foreign name, the country is an art developed in the hands of our great mothers. Since the quilting art can be made with different kinds of fabric, its usage area is quite wide. Textile products such as clothes, bags, hats, linens, pillows, bedspreads such as home textiles and even furniture are used even in the upholstery. She has made a name for herself as a patch work carpet with woven carpets.
The aim of this study is to gather information about the tradition of the country, the places where it is used and the examples and the purpose of sharing this knowledge.
