Abstract

The campus of Alpullu Sugar Factory is one of the first facilities in the history of Republic of
Turkey with its production and social facilities, and the very first to produce sugar as the most
essential food product that has been needed during everlasting years of independence war. The
factory has not only had great impact on the territory for economic and social development but all the
accomodation units around it. Locals had the opportunity to be introduced to social facilities in
factory. Sports facilities, a cinema and a ball hall have been provided service for locals for a long time
as well as the hospital.In the in-depth analysis of Alpullu Sugar Factory starting from upper scale, it is possible to see the modern style of the period and the Art Deco impact that have influence on the
structure. The influence of Art Deco style that had been popular in the first half of the 20Th century in
Europe on the inner space outfits of Ergene Pavilion is one of the proofs of the intersection between
industrial construction and aesthetics.
