Publication Policy

Journal Profile: Journal of Awareness (J. Aware.) is an international, double-blind peer-reviewed, and open-access journal. The journal accepts submissions in English and Turkish and follows a Continuous Publication model.

Aim and Scope

The journal publishes high-quality theoretical and empirical research aimed at increasing individual and societal awareness in the humanities and social sciences. For the detailed thematic scope, please see the About / Focus and Scope page.

Languages, Frequency, and Article Types

• Languages: English and Turkish.
• Publication Frequency: Continuous Publication.
• Article Types: Original Research Articles, Review Articles, Critical Analyses, and interdisciplinary awareness studies.

Peer Review Policy (Double-Blind)

All submissions undergo an initial editorial screening for scope, basic quality, and ethical compliance. Suitable manuscripts are sent to at least two independent reviewers under a double-blind evaluation process. Editors base decisions on reviewers' reports and academic merit.

Confidentiality is strictly maintained throughout the review. Editors and reviewers must disclose any conflicts of interest and recuse themselves when necessary.

Open Access Model

Copyright & Licensing

Authors retain copyright and grant the journal the right of first publication. Articles are published under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) license. Full details are provided on the Copyright & Licensing page.

Plagiarism Screening

All submissions are screened for similarity (e.g., via iThenticate). Plagiarism, self-plagiarism, and redundant publications are strictly prohibited and constitute grounds for rejection, in line with COPE guidelines. Data Availability and Research Integrity

• Authors are responsible for the accuracy and integrity of the data used in their research.
• Raw data may be requested by editors or reviewers where necessary.
• Where appropriate, authors are encouraged to share data on open repositories, with proper documentation and citation.

Corrections and Retractions

Minor errors may be addressed through errata or corrigenda. In cases of major ethical breaches (fabrication, plagiarism, undisclosed conflicts of interest), the journal may issue a retraction in accordance with COPE practices. For procedural details, see the Publication Ethics page.

Conflicts of Interest

All authors, editors, and reviewers must disclose any potential conflicts of interest that could be perceived as influencing the evaluation or publication of a manuscript.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) Use

Authors must explicitly disclose any use of AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT) in the preparation of manuscripts. AI can be used only for writing and language support; it does not contribute to the scientific content, which remains entirely the responsibility of the authors. AI tools are not employed in editorial decision-making processes.
