Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

• 1. Scope and Manuscript Type: The manuscript falls within the aims and scope of the Journal of Awareness. The appropriate manuscript type has been selected (Original Research Article / Review Article / Conceptual Article / Short Communication) and is indicated at the beginning of the blinded manuscript file in the correct format (e.g., [Original Research Article]).
• 2. Originality and Duplicate Submission: The manuscript is original, has not been published previously in any language or format, and is not currently under consideration for publication elsewhere. The manuscript does not contain plagiarism or duplicate content.
• 3. Blinded Manuscript File: The manuscript file has been fully anonymised for double-blind peer review. It contains no author names, institutional affiliations, ORCID iDs, e-mail addresses, acknowledgements, funding details, ethics committee names or approval numbers, or any other information that may reveal the identity of the author(s).
• 4. Title Page / Cover Page: A separate Title Page / Cover Page file has been prepared and uploaded. It includes the full names of all authors, institutional affiliations, ORCID iDs, e-mail addresses, corresponding author information, author contribution statement, conflict of interest statement, funding statement, data availability statement, ethics committee approval statement (where applicable), informed consent statement (where applicable), acknowledgements, artificial intelligence use statement, originality and duplicate submission statement, and permissions statement.
• 5. Cover Letter: A cover letter addressed to the Editor has been prepared and uploaded. The cover letter confirms that the manuscript is original, has not been published previously, is not under consideration elsewhere, complies with the journal's ethical and publication policies, has been approved by all authors, and falls within the scope of Journal of Awareness.
• 6. Formatting and Writing Rules: The manuscript has been prepared in accordance with the formatting requirements specified in the Author Guidelines: A4 page size, 2.5 cm margins on all sides, Times New Roman font, 11–12 pt main text, 1.15–1.5 line spacing, and page numbers on all pages. The manuscript does not exceed the word limit applicable to the declared manuscript type.
• 7. Abstract and Keywords: The manuscript includes an abstract of 150–250 words (or a maximum of 150 words for Short Communications). A minimum of 3 and a maximum of 6 keywords are provided, separated by commas. The abstract does not contain citations unless absolutely necessary.
• 8. References and Citation Style: All in-text citations and the reference list conform to APA 7th Edition. Every source cited in the text appears in the reference list, and every work listed in the reference list is cited in the text.
• 9. Tables and Figures: All tables and figures are numbered consecutively, include clear titles or captions, and are cited in the main text before they appear. Table titles appear above tables; figure captions appear below figures, in accordance with APA 7 style. Figures are prepared at a minimum resolution of 300 dpi.
• 10. Ethics Committee Approval: For studies involving human participants, personal data, surveys, interviews, observations, experimental procedures, vulnerable groups, or sensitive information: ethics committee approval has been obtained, and the ethics committee approval document has been uploaded as an additional file. The approval details (committee name, date, and decision number) are stated in the Title Page / Cover Page.
• 11. Ethical Compliance: The manuscript complies with all relevant ethical principles. It does not contain false authorship, data fabrication, data manipulation, undisclosed conflicts of interest, or any other ethical violation as defined in the journal's publication ethics policy.
• 12. Permissions for Third-Party Material: Permission has been obtained for all copyrighted material, figures, tables, images, photographs, scales, questionnaires, instruments, or other third-party content reproduced or adapted in the manuscript. The permissions statement is included in the Title Page / Cover Page.
