MODAL ANALYSIS OF THREE WORKS OF YUNUS EMRE COMPOSED
Abstract
This research was prepared for the modal analysis of three works Dervish Yunus Emre one of the most important representatives of sufi poetry, which were composed by different composeres in hicaz, nihavend and huseyni modals in divine, song and folk song form.
In the research, literature rewiew and analysis method was used. The literature review of previous studies on Yunus Emre has been done. In the first part of the study, general information about Yunus Emre's life, art and philosophical ideas is given. Afterwards, the concepts of the modal, rhythm beat and form in Turkish music are explained in general terms, and general information about the modals, rhythm beats and music forms in which the works subject to the research are composed are given. Finally the composed works of Yunus Emre, who is the subject of the study were examined and their modal analysis were made within the frame of Turkish music theoretical structure.
