Abstract
The theater reflects life on the stage. People, social structure are constructed from the author's point of view and recreated to form a discourse. From the Ancient Greek to present, the theater gives its message by idealizing some individual and social values while negating others. The basic dramatic genres tragedy, comedy and melodrama also serve for idealization. In Turkish playwriting, it is seen that playwrights have common ideals about individual and society in every period. These ideals are often influenced by political and social environment. The aim of this study is to analyze the ideal individual and social structures drawn by post-2000 playwriting through common themes. In this paper, qualitative research method will be used. This method will be used in the analysis of texts. The content of the research is limited to the staged plays of the authors who started writing after 2000.
