Women constitute an essential part of employees comprise important part of men power resources. The number of women in the labor force has been increasing with effect of improvements and changes on work life conditions, social life and technology. There are several issues and problems that women face at work place. Negative attitudes toward women are one those problems. According to researches results gender inequality and gender based behavior that are main reasons of negative attitudes. In addition according to results, gender based behaviors are caused by ambivalent sexism as custom type of gender discrimination in the community. The current study examines relationship between negative attitudes toward women and ambivalent sexism. The questionnaire was applied to 117 kitchen staff, working in four and five star hotels in Beyoğlu-Taksim region in Istanbul. According to results significant positive correlation between negative attitudes toward women and ambivalent sexism were determined. In addition negative attitudes toward women and levels of ambivalent sexism have a significant difference according to demographic characteristics of participants.
