AN EVALUATION OF IDIOMS AND OTHER WORD GROUPS IN OXFORD DICTIONARY OF IDIOMS (IV)

Abstract

As in the three previous articles IV. In this study, the idioms in the dictionary named "Oxford Dictionary Of Idioms" were examined. Previous studies are as follows: The idioms given under the letter A and B, among the idioms in the mentioned dictionary, with the article "An Evaluation on Idioms and Non-Idiotic Phrases in the Dictionary of Idioms" written by Necmi Akyalçın and Sercan Hamza Bağlama. ; The terms given under the letter C under the letter are finally given by Necmi Akyalçın and Damla Aydoğan at the "III International Conferance of Awareness" conference, "An Evaluation on Idioms and Non-Idiotic Phrases in the Dictionary II" D and the Idioms given under the letter E were examined by Necmi Akyalçın and Damla Aydoğan in the article titled “An Assessment on Idioms and Non-Idiotic Phrases in the Dictionary of Oxford Dictionary Of Idioms”. Since this study is a continuation of the others, considering the previous studies, the structures given as F and G items in the mentioned dictionary were examined. The structures that are thought to be real idioms were determined and put together with numerical data and an evaluation was made.
