Abstract

The longing for "peace" since the existence of mankind makes itself feel very much also in today's
world. In order for "peace" to exist, it is necessary to raise the people who believe in peace and can
carry it to the future. This can only be achieved through "peace education". One of the important ways
to achieve peaceful living is to place the concept of peace and peace-related issues in the whole
education system and curriculum. In order to internalize this concept, peace education should be
given at very young ages. The most effective courses in contribution to such education are language
and literature courses. Children’s literature, which is a part of literature, includes the products, which
are written in accordance with the language and life universes of the children, and enrich the worlds
of their emotion and thought worlds, and their lives, aesthetically. These products have many
functions, mainly to introduce the human and life to the child, to make them gain reading habits and
culture. One of these functions is to make the child have the peace education, implicitly.
This study aims to examine the peaceful narratives of the child books in order to emphasize the
importance of including the peace education in the children’s literature works.
In the study, document analysis, one of the qualitative research methods, has been used. The data
obtained from the study has been analyzed by using "descriptive analysis" technique.
At the end of the study, it has been seen that the works examined suggest the importance of peace,
deeply.
