Article Submission Fee Policy

Journal of Life Economics (J. Life Econ.) applies an article submission fee policy in full compliance with the Higher Education Council (YÖK) and TR Dizin standards in Türkiye. The journal does not charge any publication or post-acceptance fees. Only a submission fee is collected to support editorial and administrative processes prior to the peer review stage.

1. General Principles

  • The journal charges no publication, acceptance, or processing fees after acceptance.
  • A one-time submission fee is collected only after the editorial pre-evaluation is completed and before the peer review process begins.
  • The submission fee is used exclusively for editorial evaluation, technical verification, plagiarism screening (via iThenticate), DOI and metadata preparation, and administrative management of the editorial system.
  • This practice complies with the YÖK and TR Dizin ethical publishing guidelines for national academic journals.

2. Submission Fee Amount

The article submission fee is 50 USD (or equivalent in local currency). This fee covers the following:

  • Initial editorial and technical assessment,
  • Plagiarism check using iThenticate,
  • Editorial management and communication processes,
  • System maintenance and administrative costs.

3. Payment Conditions

  • The fee is requested only after the manuscript passes the preliminary editorial check and is approved for peer review.
  • Authors receive payment instructions via e-mail once the manuscript has passed editorial screening.
  • Payment must be completed before the peer review process formally begins.
  • The editorial and review decisions are completely independent of the payment process.

4. Refund Policy

  • The submission fee is non-refundable under all circumstances, including rejection or withdrawal after payment.
  • This policy aligns with the YÖK and TR Dizin regulations, which permit non-refundable submission fees collected prior to the peer review stage.

5. Ethical Statement on Editorial Independence

The existence or amount of the submission fee has no influence on editorial decisions. All manuscripts are evaluated solely based on academic merit, originality, and relevance to the journal’s scope. The editorial and peer review processes are conducted transparently and independently, in accordance with the COPE Core Practices.

6. Invoicing and Payment Information

After receiving editorial pre-approval, authors are contacted via e-mail with detailed payment instructions. Payments can be made by bank transfer or other approved methods as stated in the invoice. Invoices are issued under Holistence Publications in compliance with financial and ethical standards.
