In family businesses, family members have high expectations of themselves, regardless of their skills and abilities. This is a dangerous step for both the company and the family. For this reason, it is necessary to check whether the quality of the workforce needed by the company and the qualifications of the family members are appropriate. Family members should educate themselves about ambition, business goals, and expectations.
Participating in the economic needs of the family company with own resources, making quick decisions and getting to know the family cause the family company to have social support. Infrequent changes in management, stable policies, harmony and support of family members in management, focus of the whole family on work, linking of goals and objectives, harmony of cultural values and morals can be considered as strong points. The open cultural background of a family business can be seen as a great advantage in transferring the business from one generation to the next.
There are also disadvantages of gathering all the authorities and responsibilities in a single person in the family business. As corporate functions become more diverse and complex, there are managerial shortcomings. In this case, managers, accounting, sales, personnel management, finance, production technicians, etc. tries to take on roles. Many managers do not have the knowledge and skills required for all of these roles.
2023-01-16T00:00:00+03:00 Copyright (c) 2023 Holistence Publications Examining the interaction of Eco-Innovation types 2023-01-03T11:17:20+03:00 Esra Bal Külahi Halim Kazan
Environmental innovations are expressed as new processes, management approaches or products that contribute to sustainability and the protection of the natural environment. The purpose of the study is to examine interrelationships between three types of environmental innovations (management, process and product) and show the main determinants for environmental innovations for firms. The study was conducted with the participation of 41 companies operating in different industries in the Marmara region. Descriptive statistics and regression analysis was used to investigate research questions. The results support that environmental management innovations have positive influence on environmental process and environmental product innovations whereas environmental process innovations also have strong influence on environmental product innovations. Additionally, the main determinants for environmental practices seem to be in response to existing regulations while global heating is also a significant concern at the corporate level. The findings suggest that environmental innovations practices should be adopted within the entire organization since the interaction between different types of environmental innovations strengthens each other.
2023-01-16T00:00:00+03:00 Copyright (c) 2023 Holistence Publications The sociopolitical analysis of the common agricultural policies of the european union 2023-01-03T15:36:41+03:00 Hüsamettin İnaç Noureddine Rashid
The various countries try to provide the food security by means of agricultural policies for their peoples. The followed policies vary depending upon the level of economic development and the resources the states owned. The study focuses on the common agricultural policies of the European Union (EU), how they be formulated, the aimed and reached targets, the comprehension of the backbone of these policies, and the different proposals offered for the farmers of the EU. In addition, the ways of arriving the sustainable development and food, the achievements of these policies and their specific signs as well as the reflections of the most important demographic factors for the regional developments, and the gains of the EU in respect of the common agricultural policies have been elaborated in this study. Because the agricultural sectors have a vitally important strategical parameter for all states, these policies have been supported by different perspectives. Despite the fact that the common agricultural policies (CAP) have been reformed many times, the nearly half of the common budget has been expended for the sake of this sector. The CAP expenditures of the EU have been financed by the European Agricultural Guidance and Guarantee Fund established in 1962 and this fund has been replaced by the European Agricultural Guarantee Fund and the European Agricultural Fund for the Rural Development in 2007 and financed from the general budget of the EU. The most important recommendations put forwarded in this article is to deepen the primary role of the EU in this policy in accordance and proportional with the needs and provide the preservation of the rural areas and keep the quality and the quantity of the agricultural products within the high level. The agricultural sector must be transformed into the backbone of the CAP with its vital, sustainable, competitive and economic character.
2023-01-16T00:00:00+03:00 Copyright (c) 2023 Holistence Publications
